British Vogue launched a video channel, Vogue Video, on Monday. Its first piece of original video content was (by Vogue standards at least) rather humorous, as they tasked Suzy Menkes to uncover the Minions‘ influence on fashion.
But it’s not really surprising that Vogue has picked up on this – they are always on trend after all and, believe it or not, Minions are bang on trend right now.
Various designers and brands, including Giles Deacon, Rupert Sanderson and Tatty Devine, have teamed up with the Minions to create the Minions Bello Yellow collection. The collection, comprising a range of Minion-themed clothing and accessories (many in Minion Yellow, which is now an official Pantone shade) is currently available at Selfridges.
Although here at The Closet we feel a little bit dubious about the idea of wearing yellow, we can’t help but smile at Rupert Sanderson’s Minions court shoes or Steve J & Yoni P‘s cute sweatshirt with a Minion plastered across the chest.
There is a reason behind all this Minion-mania, though: Minions, the prequel to Despicable Me, will hit cinemas on June 26th.
You can view some of our favourite pieces in the gallery below, and shop the collection online (though your best bet is to head to a Selfridges store, because this stuff is selling out quickly!).
